| I'm looking for representation, will you manage me? |
| |
|
| |
Vegas Casting is not a talent agency and/or manager, we do casting and we call talent agents and/or managers when we have auditions so they can send us the appropriate talent for each role. You should contact the agents and/or managers listed at the following link: Registration Page
|
| |
| Would you please email me about upcoming auditions? Please add me to your email list.
|
| |
|
| |
When you register with Vegas Casting you will be added to our email blasts. However, auditions go through talent agents. If you feel you fit a part and you would like to audition, please call your talent agent. If there ever is an open audition it will be posted on our website and in all appropriate publications.

| |
| What credentials are you looking for?
|
| |
|
| |
We look at your resume for training and past experience, whether it be theater, TV or film work. Please DO NOT put background and/or extra work on your resume. |
| |
| Do you accept voice over tapes or videotapes?
|
| |
|
| |
Yes, although do not expect them to be returned. And if you are sending in voice over tapes, DVD's or videotapes, please enclose a headshot and resume with them.
|
| |
| I am looking for waivers to get my SAG card, can you help me? |
| |
|
| |
If you are cast as a principal performer in a union job, you will become SAG eligible. You generally need three waivers for performing as an "extra" three times in a union job to become SAG eligible.
Sometimes getting waivers and upgrades just happen on the set, they are not premeditated (so therefore it doesn't hurt to do background work - you never know what will happen on the set!). Other times these are set up in advance, but there are usually special reasons for giving waivers, and paperwork has to be submitted to the union.
Just being a friend, or a relative, or hoping for a favor from a casting director or another cast or crew member won't make it happen. Waivers and upgrades are not handed out without a good reason for the guild or else a monetary fine could be levied against the production.
|
| |
| If I do background work will you still consider me for principal work?
|
| |
|
| |
Yes, if you are right for something we are casting.
|
| |
| I live in another state far away from Las Vegas. Will you consider me for auditions?
|
| |
|
| |
As long as you are registered with us and can come to Las Vegas to audition. |
| |
| I am a child/teenager and my dream is to act - how do I get started?
|
| |
|
| |
If you live near a city where there is a theater or production scene, you could try to get involved through a local talent agent or by dropping pictures at the various companies. If you live far from the scene it is harder for kids since travelling for auditions interferes with school and parent's work.
You should at least take acting classes and participate in school plays - even doing backstage work is good experience. Modeling, music, singing - any classes you can take while in school will be helpful, as well as film/video production, photography and psychology to get an understanding of the whole picture.

| |
| What is financial core? |
| |
|
| |
Financial Core (fi-core for short) is a right granted by the Supreme Court and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) rulings that allow workers (not just actors) to NOT join the union, and still work union jobs. Basically, you become a “fee paying non-member” in the eyes of your union and you are allowed to work both union and non-union jobs. You cannot be forced to join a union, but you must pay your fair share of fees for contract services.
Please call the Nevada SAG representative Hrair Messerlian at 323-549-6440 with ALL questions. |
| |
| As casting directors, do you attend acting class showcases and plays here in town to search for new talent? |
| |
|
| |
Absolutely! We love to attend showcases, plays and local movies as well. If you or someone you know is involved in one of the above, please call us at the office 702-866-5924 or email us at casting@vegas-casting.com and invite us. We love to discover new talent as well as watch talent perform that is already registered with Vegas Casting. |
| |
| So you want EVERYONE to have just one agent? |
| |
|
| |
They can have as many agents as they would like. But when it comes to dealing with Vegas Casting, we are only going to deal with one agent. And the talent chooses who they would like to represent them when it comes to auditioning and booking jobs through Vegas Casting. Outside of Vegas Casting it is none of our business how many agents an actor/actress has.
|
| |
| Vegas Casting claims to be running there company LA style. What does that mean?
|
| |
|
| |
Vegas Casting has and is researching the LA casting market as well as being trained by LA casting directors. Vegas Casting is being set up based on what is learned from research and the LA casting directors advice.
|
| |
| What LA casting directors are you getting this information from?
|
| |
|
| |
That is confidential because we had to sign confidentiality agreements with the casting directors that are advising us.
|
| |
| So if you're with an agent and you have a project that you are casting and you send out an audition notice to ALL of the agents then would everyone in every agency need to be in your database, or they wouldn't be seen?
|
| |
|
| |
That is correct. |
| |
| What about actors/actresses without an agent or manager or those that just have a manager or those that prefer not to have an either?
|
| |
|
| |
We are not going to deal with talent directly. We are only going to deal with talent agents and/or talent managers. If an actor/actress doesn't have an agent and/or manager, we will register them and you should contact the agents and/or managers listed at the following link: Registration Page
|
| |
| Is there an experience level one has to be at to register at Vegas Casting?
|
| |
|
| |
1. Headshot and resume with no extra work. That includes featured extra and/or background work.
2. They may perform a monologue if they have one. Although they do not need one to register.
3. If they have a reel or a film they would like us to see. We encourage them to bring a copy for us to keep.
|
| |
| Why are you running your company LA style? |
| |
|
| |
The reason that we are doing things in the manner that we are is because we are going to be spending allot of time and money on advertising and cultivating relationships in the LA area.
We are trying to convince them that Las Vegas has incredible amounts of talent that are ready to work. We want LA to come here and feel like they do at home. The bottom line is Hollywood is king, so we are going to do things the way that they like it. |
| |
| Can someone use different agents for different projects?
|
| |
|
| |
No. The agent that you chose to represent you to deal with Vegas Casting will represent you for all projects across the board. |
| |
| Will you tell me which talent agent that an actor or actress uses? |
| |
|
| |
Vegas Casting will never tell anyone who one of their registered actors/actresses are represented by. If you want to know which talent agent an actor or actress uses, you will have to contact them yourself.
|
| |
| When an actor/actress registers with Vegas Casting why do they create a talent profile on the Vegas Background website when the actor/actress doesn't do background and/or extra work? |
| |
|
| |
The reason that we are using the Vegas Background database and not the Vegas Casting database is because Vegas Casting doesn't have one. It would not be cost effective to build a separate database when we can simply use the one that Vegas Background has.
|
| |
| Which talent agents do the casting directors at Vegas Casting use when they cast themselves? |
| |
|
| |
The casting directors at Vegas Casting WILL NOT be auditioning for anything that they cast. The only exception is if they were also producing. Although if a producer insists that one of the casting directors are perfect for a role and they are willing to pay the union fines, the client will get what they want.

| |
|
| |
You will NEVER be booked through Vegas Casting again. The ONLY exceptions are that you were hospitalized or had a death in the family. If that is the case you MUST provide proof. |
| |
| What happens if I leave a set or event before my scheduled time without calling a casting director or talent agent, even though I told the client that I was leaving? |
